Bend Oregon Photographer | Bio/CV

With a background in commercial work and portraits, Karen has been practicing photography for 20 years. After pursuing degree in Mandarin Chinese and economics at the University of Puget Sound, Karen followed her heart and studied photography at the Seattle Art Institute.

Karen honed her photographic skills as an assistant for photographers Donna Day, Karen Moskowitz and Marco Prozzo while living in Seattle. After 8 years, she moved to Ennis, Montana photographing people, trout and cattle.

Recently, Karen has been a Bend Oregon photographer, living in her hometown of Bend for 10 years, capturing those ephemeral, timeless moments in Central Oregon. Her signature work includes Taylor Northwest, the Bend Broadband Vault, event photography for the Oregon Community Foundation, TEDx Bend, Bend Film and the delight of children at the Old Mill Santa land. She also specializes in family portraits, senior portraits, and editorial and food photography. Karen’s photography has been published in The New York Times, Flyfisherman, and Fortune magazine.

Karen indulges in the visual delights and stories surrounding her. This provides her ample inspiration to capture those rare, colorful moments experienced with impeccable photography.

Karen feeds off the outdoors and spends her free time bike riding, Nordic skiing and hula hooping her way through the hot, summer days.
